PlayStation E3 Experience 2016 Announced

E3 Experience

With E3 just around the corner (wow, is it really only two weeks away?!), I’m excited to announce that the PlayStation E3 Experience is coming back on Monday, June 13, to over 85 movie theaters across the US, Canada, and for the first time, Latin America!

In 2014, we had this crazy idea to partner with Fathom Events and broadcast our E3 Press Conference LIVE to some theaters North America, not knowing if this was something people would even be interested in attending. Two years later, and we’ve had to more than double our seating capacity to accommodate everybody!

There’s just something special about watching the news and excitement of E3 together with fellow PlayStation fans that makes this an event I look forward to every year. Between the loud cheers that, honestly, probably ruin movies for people in adjacent theaters (sorry not sorry), and the camaraderie felt in the air from being surrounded by the PlayStation Nation, there’s no better way to experience E3.

In addition to getting to watch an HD simulcast of our E3 Press Conference, fans in attendance will go home with special PlayStation goods, including a commemorative Coca-Cola E3 Experience Cup and #37 from the PlayStation Collectible Card series first introduced at PlayStation Experience 2015! This is the only way to get your hands on these exclusive collectibles, so don’t miss your opportunity.

Of course, we didn’t forget about the digital gift basket this year, but the contents of that will have to remain a surprise for now…

No Man’s Sky Coming to PS4 in August

No Man’s Sky

Hello, Sean Murray from Hello Games here, working extremely hard on our game, No Man’s Sky.

The game really has come together, and it’s such an incredible relief. As we sit an play it now, and as I watch playtesters every day, I can finally let myself get excited. We’re actually doing this.

However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.

After a short delay, No Man’s Sky will launch in North America on August 9, in Europe August 10, and in the UK August 12.

Diplo on No Man’s SkyCreature on No Man’s Sky

We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right.

The universe of No Man’s Sky is incredibly vast. More than you can imagine. This is a type of game that hasn’t been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation.

And despite all of that, development is genuinely going well. This is the hardest working, most talented team I’ve ever worked with, and I’m so proud of what we’re doing. For all our sakes though, we get one shot to make this game and we can’t mess it up.

To the loyal community who’s stuck by our side since the unveiling of No Man’s Sky years ago, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology and I am humbly asking that you’ll still look forward to exploring our universe despite the slight delay.

Thank you so much,
Sean

BlazBlue: Central Fiction Launches this Winter on PS4, PS3

BlazBlue: Central Fiction

Brace yourselves, brawlers! Aksys Games and Arc System Works proudly announce that BlazBlue: Central Fiction is coming to the PS4 and PS3 Winter 2016!

The latest entry in the BlazBlue franchise, Central Fiction introduces an all-new story and features tons of characters, new and old alike. Demon/cyborg hybrids, vampires, cat people, berserkers, and science experiments run amok are but a fraction of what you can expect to see on the packed fighter roster. Familiar faces return to wreak havoc while new challengers emerge from the sidelines with flashy moves and insane techniques.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction

Blazblue is a series that has always been known for its over-the-top gameplay and Central Fiction continues that tradition with two new game mechanics. Players have even more strategic possibilities for combat with the additions of Exceed Accel and Active Flow. Exceed Accel is activated during an Overdrive and unleashes a chaotic attack that deals massive damage to the opponent. Active Flow utilizes the Heat Gauge and once activated, boosts your attack power as well as your Exceed Accel damage.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction

Adding more mechanics and offensive weapons to your move arsenal might seem overwhelming, but options are a fighter’s best friend and one can never have enough to add to their bag of beat down tricks. Still not convinced? Fear not! If you’re getting clobbered on the learning curve, simply choose Stylish mode and tune up the competition with simplified move inputs. A fighting game is nothing without battlefields to brawl on and Central Fiction weighs in with tons of arenas and level variations. New locales and familiar stomping grounds are all rendered in 3D and offer a unique contrast to the intricately hand-drawn 2D fighter sprites.

Dust off your knuckles, fighting fans! Like a well-timed 2D punch, Central Fiction bashes massive amounts of content into one slick title that hits hard (in all the right places!) and keeps the pummeling steady. Coming to PS4 and PS3, BlazBlue: Central Fiction steps onto the battlefield this winter!

Smite on PS4 Launches May 31

It’s official –Smite, the world’s No. 1 action MOBA, will exit beta and launch May 31st on PS4.

Never heard of Smite? Wondering if it’s the right game for you? Here’s a quick quiz:

Do you like action? ✔
Do you like games that are easy to pick up, but tuned for competitive play?✔
Do you think most MOBAs look way too slow/boring/complicated? ✔
Do you think FREE is the perfect price?✔

If you said yes, you’re just like the 20+ million players who have entered the Battleground of the Gods.

In Smite, you become a God from ancient mythology like the mighty Zeus, Greek God of the Sky or the magical Kukulkan, the Mayan Serpent of the Nine Winds. Then it’s all on you to unleash your deity’s unique fighting style, legendary weapons, and earth-shattering powers to defeat your foes.

Smite pioneered – and perfected – the third-person perspective MOBA. Smite puts you into the heart of the action, not looking down at a tiny character or floating behind a lumbering oaf.

If you’re new to MOBAs, there’s no better game to start with than Smite.

SMITE on PS4

Already, millions of PS4 gamers have tried Smite during our ongoing beta test. But if you haven’t played Smite since beta began, you might be surprised at what’s changed:

Doubled Frame Rate

Smite is now optimized at 60 FPS!

Divine Trophies

Show off your godly play with awesome Trophies.

New Game Modes

Our small-scale 5v5 Clash and Siege modes are a great, streamlined introduction to MOBA-style gameplay.

New Gods

We’ve added four new gods to Smite during beta, bringing our total count to 75.

Activity Feed

Let all your friends know when you master a God, earn an award, or hit max level.

SMITE on PS4

While this may seem like a lot of change for a beta, frequent and free updates are a way of life for Smite: We introduce new content every two-to-three weeks, year-round. There’s always something new awaiting you in the Battleground of the Gods, like our Viking Invasion event starting next week.

We want to thank our strong PS4 community and the hundreds of thousands of people who play Smite daily on the console. If you would like to become part of our community, follow Smite on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram – and you can unlock some free God skins while you’re at it.

See you on the Battleground of the Gods, officially launching May 31st on PS4!

Moon Hunters Launches on PS4 July 12, 2016

At long last, Moon Hunters is trekking to PS4, to be released in North America and Europe on July 12, 2016 through PlayStation Store.

Moon Hunters on PS4

I’m the design lead on the team of five-ish making this game. We call ourselves Kitfox, and we’ve been working for years on this little world. It started as a doodled idea in 2013, inspired by old surreal and occult-looking paintings from our artist. Almost a year later we were Kickstarting, and when that was a clear success, BAM! We could afford to bring the game to PS4.

It feels strange to think it’s been so long since we made that announcement [LINK: http://ift.tt/1v4e1MT] – time passes really quickly when you’re working hard, I guess. It’s a little bit later than our original target of winter 2015, but we wanted to make it the best possible version of the game.

The game itself has changed a lot since the original concept, but the whole time, we’ve been driven by this fascination with “mythology,” and what it means for a person to become a legend. We knew we wanted to make a “party game”-style RPG, about 45 minutes long each session. So rather than make each session epic in and of itself, we ended up focusing on the constellations and legends you create, which are saved across playthroughs.

Moon Hunters on PS4

We only have a couple of months left until the PS4 launch, but there’s still lots of little details to tweak and fix, cooking to make more delicious, familiars to make more adorable, constellations to make more sparkly, etc. I’m sure it’ll be July 12th before I know it, but all we can do is buckle down and get it done.

Part of the joy of being an indie developer is getting to have personal contact with your fans – and we’ve had our hearts warmed by all of your fan letters and fan art. Keep sending them, through Twitter and Facebook! Thank you!
