Handcrafted Adventure The Little Acre Begins November 22

Hi everyone, I’m Ben from Pewter Games, an indie studio based in Dublin. The Little Acre is our upcoming adventure game.

The Little Acre tells the story of a small family in 1950’s rural Ireland. During the game you’ll play as Aidan, a job-hunting engineer, and his young daughter Lily whose current life-goal is to be a swordfighting fairy-knight. Things in The Little Acre are not quite what you’d expect; when Aidan goes missing one morning, Lily decides to hunt for him and soon they both discover a mysterious world connected to their own. Who lives there? Why is the entrance in their garden shed? Do they have any hope of escaping?

When talking about The Little Acre or demoing it, we always get asked about the art style. It’s all hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation that’s reminiscent of the work of Don Bluth, who created films such as All Dogs Go to Heaven and An American Tail. What do we mean by hand-drawn? Each frame of the animation is sketched, filled in with details and finalized. We have some computer help with coloring and effects, but every step, gesture, and expression starts with an animator’s hand. It’s labor intensive but the results are something really special. Our animators particularly like drawing animals. If you’re a dog lover or cat lover then the Little Acre has some furry friends for you. Of course, we mentioned earlier that things are not quite what you’d expect, and that applies to the animals, too.

The game we’ve made is a traditional point and click adventure at heart, but we’ve also worked hard to make it feel just right for console players. There’s no pixel-hunting or awkward cursor controls on your DualShock 4 here. We’ve also included a hint system for any moments you might get lost — however, there’s a prestigious Trophy waiting for you if you can beat the game without any tips.

We’re really excited to be bringing The Little Acre to PlayStation where there’s already some serious love for classic adventure games. We really hope you all enjoy The Little Acre when it lands on November 22.

Have fun, everyone!

The Sounds and Music of The Last Guardian

As ardent fans of Fumito Ueda’s past games can attest, the audio component of his projects – both sound and music – play a vital role in immersing the player in a rich fantasy world. Many gamers who hear the theme from the 13th boss in Shadow of the Colossus, for example, will immediately recall standing atop a sprinting Agro in pursuit of a gigantic snake like creature soaring over a barren desert.

The aural presentation in The Last Guardian is no less crucial for achieving the full experience of exploring this new world with Trico. Determinedly composed, orchestrated, and conducted by Takeshi Furukawa and gracefully performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, Trinity Boys Choir, and London Voices at Air Studios, the music of The Last Guardian is laden with emotion — and often haunting. It powerfully complements the story of this boy and creature, alone amidst ancient ruins, working together as they seek a path to freedom.

We’re happy to announce that The Last Guardian Composer’s Choice PS4 Music App will be available separately at launch via PlayStation Store, featuring 17 tracks from the score of the game. The soundtrack will also be available via iTunes at a later date. The Composer’s Choice app supports both stereo and surround playback, and allows users to export all the tracks as stereo MP3 files via a compatible USB drive.

For audiophiles and collectors, a Vinyl release of the OST will be available in December. We’ll have an update on exact release timing, pricing, and the final cover art for that version at a later date.

The Last Guardian vinyl OST

Lastly, for owners of PlayStation headsets, a custom audio mode for The Last Guardian will deliver a fine-tuned audio experience engineered for maximum immersion. If you own a PlayStation headset compatible with the Headset Companion App, be sure to download and activate this special mode when you play!

Old-school RPG Asdivine Hearts Coming to PS4, PS3, PS Vita This Winter

Kemco has been a publisher for a long time, and many gamers may know us as a gaming company specializing in RPGs. Well, that’s true. Since becoming a global publisher we were looking for the chance to reach more fans of the genre, and we thought: why can’t we provide our RPG experience to PlayStation users as well? And here we are!

We’re proud to announce that Asdivine Hearts, the first Kemco RPG on PlayStation, will hit PlayStation Store this winter on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita at the same time! Asdivine Hearts is a fantasy RPG where you travel a vast world with four companions to find out what is threatening the peace of Asdivine.

We know that many users request cross buy support. Well, we’re also happy to announce that the game will support cross buy on all platforms! So if you get the game on PS4 or PS3 for your home, for example, you can enjoy the fantastic world of Asdivine while you’re on the train with your PS Vita as well!

Through Asdivine Hearts, we hope more RPG fans are getting back to the golden age of RPGs. In the end, what’s the attraction of RPGs? A plot full of twists and turns, a vast world map that gives you the satisfaction of journeying, really weird characters (Have I ever met someone like an RPG character in real life? Well, apart from us here at Kemco, no one), towns with kind (or rude) people to interact with, and strategic turn-based battles with animated effects to let off your daily steam!

Yeah, Asdivine Hearts has all the charm of a role playing game a core gamer demands which is packed into one full-fledged adventure! Not only that, you might even meet the strongest maid ever in gaming history!

What? You’re still wondering if you should play Asdivine Hearts or spend time with your favorite pet? Well, no problem at all! In the case of Asdivine Hearts, you don’t need to choose since you travel with Felix, a talking cat that proclaims itself the light deity.

Asdivine Hearts will also feature 15 Trophies to be collected in addition to the rich game content. The game boasts 40+ hours of gameplay with plenty of subquests, and a battle arena to challenge your skills — the sky’s the limit with the amount of the damage you can dish out.

Now prepare to restore the light of the world (And never forget to restore the light in your room before playing Asdivine Hearts, too)!

Titanfall 2 Out Friday: 14 Tips to Refine Your Titan Technique

The team at Respawn is very proud of what we accomplished with Titanfall and we’re excited to bring this experience to a brand new audience with Titanfall 2 when it launches October 28 on PS4.

We’ll be introducing a thrilling, unique single-player campaign in addition to our rich multiplayer experience that’s unlike anything else out there.

For new players, here a few general tips to get you ready for Titanfall 2 multiplayer.

  • Titanfall is all about speed. Use Wallrun, Slide, and Double Jump to traverse hard to reach areas of the map. Use your mobility to create new flanking routes and unexpected angles of attack. Enemies expect you to keep your boots on the ground — surprise them.
  • Many weapons are reliable when fired from the hip. Aim down sights for accuracy when you need it, but stay mobile when you don’t!
  • Get kills, complete objectives, and steal batteries to speed up your Titan Timer and call in your Titan quicker.
  • Networks are a great way to find and play new friends based on your interests and goals. Make sure to take some time to search for a Network that’s right for you or start your own!

Titanfall 2, PS4

Now that we have the general tips out of the way, here are a few more for first-time Pilots:

  • Hold down the grenade throw button to “cook” your grenade before throwing it. Tap Triangle to cancel the throw.
  • Each weapon has it’s own feel, and situations that it excels in. Some reward careful distance fighting, others are great for point-blank attacks.
  • The Pulse Blade ability reveals enemies to both you and your friends. Sometimes the right intel at the right time makes all the difference.
  • The Arc Grenade slows pilots and titans down, giving you a chance to outmaneuver them.
  • Avoid overheating the LSTAR, and you’ll never have to reload it.
  • Watch your radar for enemy activity; they’ll reveal their locations when they fire their weapons.

Titanfall 2, PS4

Ready to kick it up a notch? Try some of these advanced techniques to become a veteran Pilot:

  • Canceling a Frag grenade throw will drop and roll it at your feet, ready to explode. Use this to surprise anyone chasing or lurking below you.
  • Give a friendly titan a battery as you ride on top, and the shield that generates will protect you as long as it lasts.
  • Use your slide move to boost around corners, catching enemies off guard and making yourself a smaller target.
  • Set up your Titan with an Assault Chip and Warpfall for an insta-drop cavalry. Let it mop up your enemies as you go for the match objective.

We can’t wait for you to play Titanfall 2 when it launches this week. Good luck, and we’ll see you online.
