Call of Duty: Black Ops III Story Trailer Exposes a Bleak Future

Hello PlayStation Nation! All of us here at Treyarch Studios want to thank everyone that participated in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Beta last month. Thank you to all the PlayStation 4 players who were among the first to play the Beta. The data that we received has been invaluable as we make our final preparations for the November launch.

As excited as we are about Multiplayer, we’re also working hard on Zombies and Campaign too. In fact, it’s been some time since we last spoke about the Campaign in Black Ops III on PlayStation 4*. Without a doubt, this story is the most ambitious that we’ve ever undertaken.

Black Ops III engrosses players in a dark and gritty future, where a new breed of Black Ops soldier has emerged, and the lines between humanity and military technology have been blurred. You must navigate the hot spots of a new Cold War to find your missing brothers. While much has changed, one thing remains the same: everything you know may be wrong. How far down the rabbit hole are you willing to go to uncover the disturbing truth?

To help show you what we mean, we wanted to give you a look at what’s in store for you coming this November:

The Black Ops III campaign opens up possibilities never before seen in the franchise. Customize your character and join with up to four friends for furious online co-op action. With larger environments, overhauled AI, and full progression systems, we’ve designed the campaign to be a re-playable and evolving experience.

Stay tuned for more information on the various campaign systems and features starting next week.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is set to release on November 6th. Those that pre-ordered the game on PS4 will receive the NUK3TOWN Bonus Map at launch. The fan favorite multiplayer map comes to Black Ops III in a big way, re-imagined and re-designed from the ground up to highlight the new momentum-based, chained-movement system.

There’s still a lot of exciting stuff to share between now and November. We’ll be sure to check in with you all soon!

*Call of Duty: Black Ops III campaign mode will be available on next-gen platforms only, including PS4.

Powers Season 2: Michael Madsen Joins Cast as SuperShock

Hello, PlayStation Fans! It’s Brian Michael Bendis, co-creator of the Powers comics and executive producer of the PlayStation Original Series, Powers. First off, thank you to everyone who enjoyed the first season of Powers; you all helped make it the most viewed show on PlayStation Network! As many of you have heard, we’re coming back for season two and all of us associated with the show couldn’t be more excited.

Powers Season 2

Powers Season 2

I’ve been working hard all summer, alongside our incredible showrunner Remi Aubuchon, to make this season even better than the last. Expect more action, more powerful heroes, and more of the unique storytelling that made the Powers comics the Powers comics!

(Spoiler warning: major plot points of Season 1 discussed below!)

We’ve just started shooting in Atlanta this week and the energy on set has been amazing. Picking the story up where we left off last season, viewers will finally find out who killed Retro Girl and the far-reaching ramifications of her death. I don’t want to give away too much here, but the death of Powers’ most famous superhero rocks the world to its core.

Powers Season 2

I’m also excited to announce a big piece of casting news. The incomparable Michael Madsen is joining the cast of Powers as SuperShock, one of the most powerful superheroes in the Powers universe!

After retiring 40 years ago under mysterious circumstances, SuperShock resurfaces to fill the void left behind by Retro Girl’s death. If you know Michael’s work on amazing films like Reservoir Dogs and Donnie Brasco, you know we’re incredibly lucky to have him joining our talented cast.

And that’s just one day. PlayStation Nation, get ready to be blown away this season! I will be updating you right here all production long!

PS Plus: Free Games for October 2015

One brutally difficult platformer, one heart-warming, coming-of-age story. This month’s PS Plus lineup has a great mix of flavors and you’ve come to the right place for the details! Starting on the first Tuesday of the month, a new lineup of free games comes to PlayStation Plus members, including Super Meat Boy and Broken Age on PS4.

Super Meat Boy will challenge even the most devoted platforming players with teeth-grinding levels, insane obstacles, horrible traps, and smiling chunks of meat. Yum! Can you stand against the gory onslaught of near-impossible tasks in Super Meat Boy? You’ll find out soon enough…

PS Plus: October 2015

If that’s a little too intense, why not point and click at things, instead? Broken Age is joining the PS Plus lineup, too! In it, guide two teenagers through strangely similar circumstances but on two different worlds. With a gorgeous soundtrack and award-winning cast, Broken Age is perfect for gamers that grew up with the adventure genre. Or people that just want to hear some jokes. Jokes are always good.

Last thing! Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition will no longer be available as a free download for Plus members starting on October 6th, 2015. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, be sure to go to PlayStation Store now before October 6th!

For the full PlayStation Plus lineup this month, check the official page on PlayStation.com.

Before you go, we want your feedback! Please leave us a comment below and tell us what you think of the lineup. Thank you for stopping by.

Until next time! Enjoy.

Uncharted 2 Train Sequence Voted Best in Series, Collection Demo Out Today

Last week you voted for your favorite Uncharted Moments and the votes are in! There was a close tie between the Train Wreck from Uncharted 2 and the Cargo Plane from Uncharted 3, but there could only be one winner, right? The Train Wreck! The very opening minutes of Uncharted 2 grab you pretty instantly and — for a lot of people — never let go.

We’ll be playing it live today and talking to the team about what it actually took to pull this epic moment off (Hint: it wasn’t easy). Tune in on the Naughty Dog Twitch channel and sound off in the chat, or share your favorite Uncharted Moments in the forums.

Watch live video from NaughtyDog on www.twitch.tv

With less than two weeks until Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection launches on October 9th, we’re happy to announce that the demo will go live on the PlayStation Store today! Even if you’ve battled through war-ridden Nepal a hundred times, playing it with enhanced graphics and gameplay on PS4 is like playing it fresh. Don’t believe us? Download it.

Be sure to download the demo from PlayStation Store today and mark your calendars for the third Uncharted Moments stream on October 6th. Don’t forget to grab your copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection so you can join the exclusive Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta, available December 4th through the 13th!
